In the Land of Myths, the Plane of Paestum, in 1998 a group of entrepreneurs and farmers, encouraged by the regional plan of “Global Support to Zootechny in Campania” founded the FILAB s.r.l.
In 2015, the company was totally acquired by the Consalvo-Valvano family through BUBALUS socierà agricola a r.l.
FILAB is the acronym for “Filiera Latte Bufalino” (Buffalo Milk Production Chain) and it identifies a company which also in its name has chosen its project: to improve and upgrade the whole buffalo production chain. This project has made possible thanks to the clever and for-sighted management of doc. Franco Consalvo, veterinarian, expert in the buffalo field.
In order to guarantee a production of high quality Buffalo Milk Mozzarella Cheese (the so called "Mozzarella di Bufala Campana DOP"), some interventions have been carried out: the modernization of the farms belonging to the partners providing milk, the optimization of feeding and the control of the sanitary conditions of buffaloes, the realization of a modern and efficient social dairy.
Buffalo milk, produced exclusively in Salerno province, collected with modern means belonging to the company, reaches the dairy in its best hygienic and temperature conditions, and then it is processed according to the oldest local cheese-making tradition.
So FILAB s.r.l. produces its Mozzarella di Bufala Campana DOP, famous for its mythical and typical taste.
