The company, choosing the name "FILIERA LATTE BUFALINO" (FILAB s.r.l.), wanted to define its quality commitment in production field of buffalo mozzarella cheese. In fact, by buffalo milk chain of business you plan the entire course of production of a food “from farm to fork”, i.e. from feeding on animals to finished and packaged foods. It is a process that involves farmers, breeders, producers of animal feed and seeds, dairy farms, transporters and distributors, until to the consumer.
FILAB s.r.l. controls all these operators in order to offer the consumer a high quality and healthy and safe product, at a fire price that summarizes itself the relationship between ethics and economics. To this end, FILAB s.r.l. has adopted a policy for quality based on continuous monitoring and improvement of production processes and products that has proven to be successful and crucial for its business growth.
FILAB s.r.l. wanted certified management systems for raw materials, production processes and products that meet their precise requirements of safety and quality, as well as making use of a rigid system of self-certification by third parties too.

Since 2001, FILAB s.r.l. is member of Consortium that carrying out its activities to enhance product Mozzarella di Bufala Campana with an intense control on production, the naming and promotion to the consumer. FILAB s.r.l. has received from Consortium the authorization number 173/2002 which is reproduced on the packaging and it is a guarantee of the authenticity as the local product and geographical origin.
Mozzarella di Bufala Campana PDO is produced by FILAB s.r.l. by applying the production rules established by the EC Regulation n.1107 of 12 June 1996 and the Ministerial Decree of February 11, 2008. Therefore, the product is guaranteed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry according to the art. 10 of EC Reg. 510/2006.
FILAB s.r.l. has considered important and necessary to certify its own set of companies that contribute to the production, distribution and commercialization of Mozzarella di Bufala Campana PDO.
Traceability is the process that allows us to reconstruct the history of the product "from table to the field" through a system that uses information tracked through all phases of product formation and then along all the production chain.
The increased sensitivity to food safety has prompted FILAB s.r.l. to include in its voluntary certification (controlled by an independent third party) even its own system of self-control and hygiene, made more severe than the law. The “head of supply chain" (FILAB s.r.l. that has requested the certification and who assumes responsibility for the consumer) has defined a strict control plan that is applied to the product from all the companies belonging to the chain and which is verified by a certification company.
FILAB s.r.l. achieved certification of compliance with the UNI EN ISO 22005:2008 standard for the first time in 2011. The certification is being updated.
